What configurations are available for T10 wakizashi in this collection?
Updated Feb 2026
T10 wakizashi in this collection are available in two primary mounting configurations and several fitting style variations within each. Shirasaya configurations mount the T10 blade in a plain wooden scabbard and handle without conventional fittings - no tsuba guard, no ito wrapping, no metal collar components. The shirasaya mount presents the blade's T10 hamon character without distraction from fitting decoration, making it the configuration of choice for collectors who want the blade quality to be the entire focus of the piece. Full-fitted configurations include complete tsuba guard in traditional Japanese decorative designs, ray-skin handled with ito wrapping, and a lacquered scabbard that may be in black, natural wood, or color-treated finish. Some pieces in the collection feature specific design themes including floral and seasonal motifs in the tsuba and fitting decoration. All configurations maintain full-tang T10 construction with clay-tempered heat treatment. Daisho display pairs of T10 wakizashi and matching katana are also represented in the collection.
