What is the best desk or shelf position for a sword table stand in a home office?
Updated Feb 2026
For a home office or study, the best position for a sword table stand is where it is clearly visible during normal desk use but not in the immediate work zone where items are placed, moved, and shifted regularly. A shelf above or beside the desk at eye level when seated places the sword in the peripheral field of view throughout the day - present and appreciated without being in the direct path of work activity. A dedicated section of the desk at one end, away from the computer and keyboard, works if the desk surface is large enough. Avoid placing the stand where it could be knocked by a chair, a swinging arm, or a reaching motion during normal work. The swords extend well beyond the stand base in both directions, so position the stand so the sword tips and handles do not overhang into the work area or near the desk edges. A corner position with the sword running parallel to one wall makes efficient use of space and positions the sword where it is clearly visible without obstructing movement.
