Is the blade steel quality consistent across all colors, including specialty and rare color options?
Updated Feb 2026
Steel quality is completely independent of color selection across every option in this collection, including specialty and rare colors. The blade forging, heat treatment, and edge finishing process is completed before the blade is mounted in any colored fittings. A specialty orange katana in T10 steel contains the identical blade as a standard black katana in T10 steel. Color is applied to the external components — scabbard, handle wrapping, and fittings finish — not to the blade itself. Specialty colors may be produced in smaller quantities, but this affects availability rather than construction quality. Every sword in this expanded collection, regardless of how common or rare its color, meets the same construction and material standards.
