How should I care for a bamboo sword stand over time?

 Updated Mar 2026

Bamboo stands require very little maintenance, but a few habits will keep them looking their best. Dust regularly with a dry or lightly dampened microfiber cloth — avoid soaking the surface with water or using alcohol-based cleaners, which can dry out the bamboo and cause minor cracking along the grain. Once or twice a year, a light application of food-grade mineral oil or bamboo-specific conditioner will restore the natural luster and prevent the surface from becoming brittle. Store the stand in a room with relatively stable humidity (ideally 40–60% RH); sustained exposure to very dry air or direct heating vents can cause the bamboo to lose moisture and develop small surface checks. With basic care, a quality bamboo stand will remain structurally sound and visually attractive for many years.
